Play Solitaire With a Logical Thinking

Solitaire is a game played with a deck of cards. It can be played by a group of people or a single individual. Many versions of this game have evolved, but its base idea remains the same. This game is referred to as Patience in France, Poland, England and Germany. Another well known version of Solitaire is Klondike.
This game involves a simple set of rules. If you are playing an online version of this game, you simply have to click the play button and this will generate a shuffled deck of cards arranged in the layout of a game of Solitaire. The player aims to build four stacks of cards, each containing one suit in the ascending order, that is, from ace to king. The home stack is where the user needs to start piling his stacks, starting from the ace. If an ace is not available you can simply go through the deck of cards available to you and pick an ace out. The lesser your moves, the more you score.
A time dependent scoring system is available for this game, and it is called Vegas. The time dependent scoring system makes the game more challenging. Amateur players could always opt for a time independent scoring system to play the game instead.
This game has received a lot of popularity, and in computers, it is available with the most basic installation of the operating system of Microsoft. The game interface is user friendly and even a person with a basic knowledge of Windows could handle a game of Solitaire without any difficulty.
Many variations of this game have emerged and some examples are Spider Solitaire, FreeCell Solitaire, Golf Solitaire, and Pyramid Solitaire. Playing a game of Solitaire requires logical thinking, and planning ahead a few moves in order to avoid getting stuck in a deadlock. You can undo your moves in case you are caught in a deadlock but this will deduct points from your score. An element of chance is also involved in this game.
This is a very enjoyable game and you will definitely want to repeat play after you get the hang of it. It is a wonderful way to unwind and relax. It also can be played on any occasion, like a family reunion, a picnic. You could also play it all by yourself. It is a wonderful recreational tool and helps in sharpening problem-solving skills, and thus hones your ability to make calculating moves even in real life.

Free Games

If you are tired of paying money to play new video games at home to pass the time you may want to toss aside your remote and consider heading online to look at free games. Many avid video game players do not realize that there are millions of possibilities available online that mimic or are even the same as the games they pay to play. Within very little time you can be playing new free games online that are free to play at all times so that instead of spending your money you can start to enjoy games for free right away.
One of the perks of heading online to play is that you can choose from a wide variety of games that span just about every type of genre that is out there. For example, if you enjoy playing adventure type games you will find plenty of options. You will also find plenty of options when it comes to playing shooting, logic, puzzle, role playing, and sporting games as well as thousands of other types of games that are a blend of many different genres.
Another one of the perks of free games online is that they vary in length so that you can find the right games to play at any time during the day. If you are only trying to kill a few minutes before you leave for work you can play something that only last for five minutes or so, such as games that are based on the logic puzzles of classic games such as Tetris or the original DK arcade games. On the other hand, if you have more time on your hand then you can search out longer free games that are based on famous adventure or role playing games.
Those who love sports will also find that there are plenty of free games that allow you to practice and enjoy the competitive nature of your favorite sport even when the weather is not suitable. For example, if you love playing baseball but the weather is dark and damp you can head online to look for baseball games that will allow you to compete against others while having some fun and killing a few hours instead of sitting around disappointed in the weather.
Finally, if all of these reasons are not enough to get you to head online to look at free games there is one more factor that comes into play that may have you opening up your web browser: the community factor. Online there are large communities of people that play so when you head online to play you get the bonus of new competitors and plenty of new opportunities to meet people while playing who have the same interests as you who are willing to chat casually while playing free games on a regular basis.
A great place to play free games online is Gamesting.com. With many popular games to play updated every day.

Children's Party Games: Musical Statues

Getting their attention
Before you start this or any other game it is important to get every child's attention. Please see my previous article "The Numbers Game" for a great way to do this
The Rules (for your reference):
The idea of this game is simple. When you play the music, the children dance. As soon as the music stops, the children all need to stand as still as possible.
Traditionally, this is a "knock out" game. In this case, the child who is the last to stop still is effectively "knocked out" of the game. While this is fine for older children (8+) as they generally understand the competitive nature of the game, I have found that this is less ideal for 7s and under.
For 7s and under, I have found a much simpler method is to simply give a prize to the stillest child/best dancer for each round.
How to explain this to the children in a fun way:
"OK, now we're going to play a game called musical statues."
"who has played musical statues before?"
At this point, most children will raise their hands in excitement.
"Now, when I play the music, you guys have to dance as well as you possibly can. When I stop the music, I want to know who the stillest person is in the whole room".
If you have prizes to give out, then it is a good idea to mention that now too. If you are playing the knockout version, then say it will be for the winner of the game, and if you are playing the non-knockout version then you can say that it is for the best dancer/stillest person.
"Ok guys, up you get. Now who's the best dancer here?"
At this point, you should play some music. After a few seconds of music playing, you simply stop the music.
You can add an interesting twist to the game by intentionally distracting some the children by making funny noises when the music has stopped. Another fun alternative to this game is to add a theme to it, although I would only recommend this for older groups (8+).
For instance, you could have "Musical Groovy Poses", where instead of simply standing still, the idea is for the children to pull their grooviest pose when the music stops. Or how about Musical Gruesome Faces? Beware, you might need a camera for that one!
Have fun and thanks for reading!

Games - World of Warcraft

Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo II, and the Warcraft trilogy are just some of the most outstanding games blizzard has to offer. Blizzard has been in the gaming industry for quite a long time, and never have they disappointed anyone with the quality of gaming they give to the gamers. From strategy games upto Role Playing Games (RPG), we can say that blizzard has been one of the greatest game providers in these fields. Some may think that Blizzard is already at its peak and their games would soon decline, but after a few years of development Blizzard was able to create a game taken from the concept of one of their famous strategy game, Warcraft, and gave it a whole new look. A change that everyone did not expect from Blizzard, that change was the World of Warcraft.
The World of Warcraft, awarded as the best PC game of the year (2004), is an MMORPG based from the campaign of the Warcraft trilogy. An MMORPG or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game is a type of game where people from across the globe can meet up in the form of their desired and custom made characters. Through this game, there were a lot of positive feedbacks to which lead the game to its present state. The game World of Warcraft or WoW has been one of the most popular online games in the world. The game took the concept of an RPG, strategy and action to a whole new level. What's good about the game is it actually supports the Warcraft trilogy by serving as a storyteller to the unending war of the Alliance and the Horde. The trilogy basically had open endings to make the players wonder more about the story of the game, with WoW, it tries to patch loose ends by giving side stories, and the continuation of the Alliance versus Horde war.
People often see this game as yet another ordinary Player versus Player enabled RPG where after a some training they could already engage and then dominate the game easily. The game features a wide variety of characters each with unique abilities and background stories that supports the plot of the Alliance versus Horde war. The game starts of with the player choosing which side he/she would want to side with to fight the war. There are 10 character types, and 9 playable classes in this game, which gives the player a wider variety in choosing a character. It can be a combination of a Troll character with a Priest class, a Gnome Warrior or even a Blood Elf Paladin, it's all up to the player's creativity and strategy on how they would use the race's unique attributes and specialties to their advantage.
The game follows a certain storyline depending on which race the player chooses. This enhances the gameplay as the story is quite different from one race to the other, but as the game progresses the players can connect those different side stories in which they would be able to understand the whole story of the game. Through the game's large number of quests, the game would then be able to retain it's mysterious factor as the players strive to complete each quest that opens up different chapters in the game. WoW is definitely something a story-based-gamer would not get tired of playing.
If you like to try out and play World of Warcraft, you can download it or buy it at your local gaming store. If you need World of Warcraft gold you can see a lot of sites offering them for sale, just do your research.

Computer Games

A keyboard, mouse and joystick are all you need to play computer games. You can add headphones and speakers to get sound. You can also go for driving wheels if you are playing racing games. You need the latest version of the Windows operating system to install computer games on your computer. However, game developers are trying to run computer games even on Mac and Linux operation systems. They are coming up with versions compatible with Mac and Linux programs. Before installing computer games on your PC, you have to make sure that your computer fulfills certain requirements to run the games properly. Memory, hard drive space, Internet connection speed, operating system, CPU speed and video card memory - all need to be in proper order so as to facilitate smooth and hassle-free installation of computer games.

Computer games are available on dedicated game-console platforms, such as the Gamecube, Xbox and PlayStation 2. Nevertheless, the most challenging aspect of computer games is to keep pace with the ever-changing PC hardware market. New CPUs and graphics cards are coming up every day. The initial versions of computer games require minimum hardware requirements. But the updated versions may need a faster processor or improved graphics card. That's why older PCs can't run the latest computer games at all. Computer games are trying hard to match you with the always-changing hardware segment.

Another addition to the computer games is networked multiplayer systems through Internet or LAN connections. They have become a necessity in racing games and other games that require real-time strategy. Computer has come a long way from the era of Spacewar in 1960, when the games were only text-based. However, with the introduction of the mouse, the text has been replaced with graphics. Computer game developers are always trying to infuse some new features to make the games more sophisticated.

Computer PC Games

Computer PC games have come a long way. Today's interactive games allow people to create new realities and to live virtually in them. People fight against teams, and build, and replicate life in a game world. The possibilities with modern-day computer PC games are endless.

There are two games on the market today that are phenomenal and have won recent awards. These two games are just among plethora of computer PC games that rock the world momentarily. Computer PC games have really taken off in the past 10 years, and they're soaring to new heights.

Minecraft is a wonderful game. There are two modes to this game. One is the survival mode, and the other is the creative mode. Both versions rely on a night and day system of the world and there are several climates. The survival mode is as the name suggests, about surviving. In the survival mode, animals can be hunted, used for food, and made into further resources for building. There are monsters whom the avatar fights off. When the avatar "dies," the avatar simply starts over from scratch. The game is essentially living real life by eating, getting hurt, regenerating, dying, making structures, and so on. Theoretically, if a player had a goal to obtain with this game, it would be to build the most possible structures before dying and/or not dying.

The creative mode is used to create amazing structures out of 3-dimensional blocks. A player can knock them down or build them up into any sort of structure for whatever purpose the player wishes. The game allows a player an unlimited supply of materials to build with, and the player does not die in this mode. The game is played with the sole intention to build. There is nothing to "win" at as there is no goal to the game. The player in the game has an avatar which can walk around, find resources and build out of them. There are still animals and monsters in the creative mode; however, they cannot harm the avatar.

Rift is a multi-player role-playing game. It is based upon fantasy in a land or world called "Telara." You have the choice of being a Guardian or a Defiant. The idea of the game is to defeat the other side. The Guardians consist of high elves, a race of humans, and dwarves. The Defiants consist of a race of humans, dark elves, and giants. "Rifts" open up where monsters come out trying to capture vantage points where Guardians fight against them. The game is essentially good vs. evil. Choosing the avatars are fun as you can specify hairstyle, clothing, armor, facial features, and coloring.

Computer PC games are a fun and interactive way to pass time. They allow for creativity in other realms and dimensions. Computer PC games offer things that regular consoles can't offer, such as better graphics, more flexibility in creativity, modifying "bugs" in the system, interactive play with other people, daily game improvements, and cheaper costs of playing.

Games from consoles are limited in their use despite the new games that come out. The reason is the medium in which these two types of games are delivered. The Internet has the capability to connect people and to modify a game at a moment's notice where games on traditional consoles simply can't compete with either one of these aspects. Computer PC games are here to stay.

Free Flash Games - Build Traffic to Your Website Using Fun Free Content!

Using online adverts is often a good way to promote your site but it can be very costly and there's no guarantee people will click the ads. Even if they do click then often you have to pay for every click. If you can't make money from that new visitor then you're just wasting money.

One great way to promote your site is to sponsor a flash game. Flash games are free online content that quickly spread around the internet on gaming websites. Flash games are extremely popular because they tend to be easy and fun and there are many different types. Developers make money by adding pre-game ads or selling splash screens, links, logo placements etc inside the games. Many games can be played millions of times, with top games getting billions of plays. Imagine placing an advert to your website in one of these! Potentially millions of people will see your ad and click on it!

How much will this cost though? Probably anything from $50 to $50,000! The cost of placing your ad in flash games varies a lot depending on what you want to display. Someone paying thousands of dollars to sponsor a game will expect their name and logo to be on display throughout and the content will have to be top quality guaranteeing tens of millions of plays. There are a lot of flash games to choose from though and it's possible to find one related to your website and ask the developer about sponsoring it. It shouldn't be too hard to find something that will allow sponsorship within your budget.

As an example if you have a website related to reptiles then you could ask to sponsor a puzzle game filled with photos of snakes. You can bet anyone playing this is interested in reptiles and a game like this will be played thousands of times and every time it's played someone interested in reptiles will be looking directly at your advert for several seconds rather than seeing it off to the side of a website.

Most flash games are sponsored before they are released because the traffic is often highest for new content. However, this isn't always true. Many flash games can take time to spread across many sites and steadily build up regular traffic. If you get a deal to place your advert in a game for it's lifetime then your ad may be seen by thousands of people everyday for years with no additional cost. Bear this in mind when sponsoring already released games. You will always get a cheaper rate but can still benefit from lots of exposure.

You can also contact developers with an offer to create you a new game based on your website theme. This may cost a lot more if it's entirely new content but you could ask the developer to change an existing game to suit your requirements and then re-release it. You will also then benefit from the extra traffic a new game often gets.

Sponsoring flash games can drive massive amounts of traffic to your website. The key is to target games most relevant to your site's content and to negotiate a good deal in terms of cost, duration and advert exposure.

Play Free Games for Fun and Treatment

The world can really be a stressful place to live in. Just imagine everything that you have to go through in a day. You have to keep up with your boss who shouts all day about tasks not properly done. Then you go home to a wife who does nothing but spend every single dime that you earn. Plus you got kids jumping all around the house as if it is one big playground. These days you have to go through - not to mention having a bunch of friends and colleagues who can't even share in your own fun. But do you know that the solution for all of these could be very simple? Maybe you only have to play free games and total relief will dawn on you.
A big name in online gaming recently sponsored a study stating that casual games can be used as a treatment for many psychological problems, particularly for depression. Comparing the group that plays free games to those who don't, the data obtained indicates that there is a great improvement in the behavior of the former group than the latter.
If this was the case, then it is safe to assume that online games are not merely a source of fun and leisure but can be an effective form of therapy as well. Studies after studies are coming out stating that playing video games may just be more helpful than reading, cooking, or gardening, hobbies that people with psychological issues are usually encouraged to take as a form of enjoyment.
In another case, it was discovered that even stroke patients can benefit by playing video games. The games involved would be the ones that require them to use a joystick, but the concept is the same. The mind and body coordination that these games require plays a very crucial role in their recuperation process.
Online games can make an individual who is suffering from depression, get engrossed with something else than the negative thoughts that plagues his mind. The distraction that these games provide is monumental, not considering that playing them can be exciting as well. If these people play free games regularly, there are higher chances that they can manage their behavior well and eventually get better. What's crucial now is the choice of the game that they play. If there is a game that introduces something that is the close opposite of their negative thoughts, then that one could be perfect for them.
There are certain games that offer rewards to depressed or substance-abusive individuals. It is better to focus their minds on these games rather than dealing with their frustrations and abusive tendencies. The distraction they get is more than a welcome change to their usual gloomy thoughts and distorted ideas. While playing free games may not be a direct cure to health and mind issues, it can certainly do a lot to improve the patient's outlook and behavior. Play free games once and you wouldn't like to be apart from them again.

Top Ten PC Games In The World

What elements push a game beyond mere goodness and into greatness? To this author, PC games are best when they deliver a transcendent gaming experience that is possible only with the aid of a personal computer: They don't simulate board or card games, reproduce real-world sports, or try to approximate movies. They are an art form unto themselves. To be considered, a game must have achieved most of its prominence on a PC platform. (This explains why Tetris, for example, didn't make the cut: It was clearly the Nintendo Game Boy's killer app). I defined a "PC" as any consumer computer that has a keyboard the user can program with arbitrary code--not just a PC of the IBM variety. If you're into PC games, check out "15 Reasons PC Gaming Beats All," too. And if you want to stay current with the latest games, tune into PC World's ace gaming blog, Game On! Top 10 Computer Games

Starcraft
Starcraft ranks in at #10 on this list. An amazingly popular game, it was released in 1998 and is still being played. Starcraft is a RTS game that pits the Zerg, Protoss, and Terran against each other. Each have a unique play style utilizing their strengths and weaknesses.
SiN Episodes: Emergence
At #9 SiN Episodes is a game you might have never head of. It's a continuation of the game SiN, released in 1998. It was released on Steam, and is unique in the fact that it was the first game created by a major developer that was released without a publisher. SiN episodes is a FPS game that takes place some time in the future in a mega city. You play the roll of a cop who has been injected with an experimental "Super Soldier" drug that is looking for the cure. It plays like many other source games, so if you enjoy them, you will probably enjoy SiN, along with it's many easter eggs. The best part though? The primary villian is a lady by the name of Elexis Sinclaire.
Sins of a Solar Empire
#8 is another game you may or may not have heard of. Sins of a Solar Empire is a pretty epic RTS game set in space. Released in 2008 with an expansion in 2009 and another in 2010, Sins has become a popular game among the RTS crowd. The basis of the game is to colonize planets through one of 3 methods: Through force, as par in a RTS game, buying them(with a ton of money), or through a religious coupe. This makes things a little interesting, as you have to make sure your people actually like you. You have the ability to build massive space fleets, and the unique feature to zoom in as close as a spaceship window, and far enough out to see multiple galaxies. Though not much real use, it's a very interesting feature.
Age of Empires 2
#7 is my favorite RTS game(you may notice there are a few on this list). It pits ancient civilizations against each other in a battle to the death (or whatever else, with all the custom maps). Age of Empires had awesome fan made maps that changed the play style. One good example was Archer Blood. In this custom map, each user got a fortress and and tower. You spawned archers at a constant interval with upgrades coming depending on how many kills you got. The final goal being to destroy the enemies tower. There were also games like the reenactment of Helms Deep. Overall it was a solid base RTS, even without custom maps, giving many choices of different civilizations, each with unique bonuses.
Battlefield 3
At #6, battlefield 3 is a pretty standard FPS game. The story line is forgettable, if you even do it, but multiplayer is addicting. Like Battlefield 2 before it, there are lots of maps, and plenty of guns. As well as fighting as a grunt, you can get in a tank, LAV, hummer, jet, or helicopter. It's got a nice ranking system where the more you play with a particular gun, the more upgrades you get for it. You can play as anything from a scout sniper to a combat medic, with each roll getting unique weapons and unlocks. There's not a lot more to say, other than it's pretty.
DOOM 3
#5 is the third shooter on this list, and the third version of the classic game, DOOM. Set on mars in the future, you, as the original space marine, have to fight your way through demons to save the day. Doom is meant to be a scary game, and they went about achieving this in different ways. First of all, pretty much everywhere you go is covered in gore, so this might be a reason it's rated M. The second way is through sound. Id, the makers of Doom, use many creepy, almost not there sounds, partnered with the fact that you hear people getting killed, either over the radio you carry, or by being close to their location. Finally, they use lighting. The complex you're in has been ravaged by demons, and thus not all the lights work. There's flickering, shadows, and just plain dark spots. To combat this you have a flashlight, but in the original game, you can't use the flashlight and a gun at the same time, forcing you to either see what's coming after you, or defend against what's coming after you.
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
#4 is a new game, released 11/11/11. It's set 200 years after Oblivion, putting the player in the province of Skyrim on the continent Tamriel. Skyrim is a large RPG game that gives you plenty of freedom with your character. Want to be a giant nord with a battle ax? A sneaky elf with daggers? A furry with a klepto problem? What about a giant furry with daggers? It's all possible in Skyrim. Skyrim has a nice, though rather short main quest, with a massive amount of side quests and land to explore. Also, like Oblivion and Morrowind before it, there are plenty of mods, with more being constantly added. The best part however is that almost nothing is bolted down, and you can steal massive amounts of stuff until your home looks like this.
The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
#3 is another Elder Scrolls game. Again, set in Tamriel, but this time in the province of Morrowind, more specifically the island of Vvardenfell. The main story line is rather nice, with plenty to do and lots of side story lines as well. Getting into guilds is much harder than with Skyrim, and require a lot more questing, going into dungeons, etc. The game was absolutely beautiful at release in 2002, pushing computers to the limit, and can still look nice now with mods. The game world is amazingly detailed with plenty to do, and there are massive amounts of mods that add to it, from tiny houses to entire new lands. Coupled with the mods, the immersion and ability to consume time rivals that of an MMO. Which brings us to:
World of Warcraft
#2, World of Warcraft has been the MMO since 2004. Built upon the game world of Warcraft 3 and it's predecessors, WoW is a huge MMO giving users thousands, if not millions of things to do, from collecting pets to killing the opposing faction. WoW is split up into two factions at war, the Alliance and the Horde, each with it's unique races. Between the land masses of Kalimdor, the Easter Kingdoms, Northrend, and Outlands, there is plenty to explore. WoW has 3 expansions out, with a fourth on the horizon. Although it's no longer at it's peak after nearly 8 years, WoW still has 10 million active players, more than any other paid MMO. If you haven't tried it yet, you can now level up to 20 for free. It's worth downloading just to give it a shot.
Diablo 2
Number 1 on the list is another Blizzard game. Diablo II was released in 2000, with it's Lord of Destruction expansion released in 2001. Diablo is a multiplayer RPG. Not really an MMO, as you can only play with 7 other people at a time. You fight your way through 4(5 with the expansion) different unique areas over three difficulties to progress, gain gear, and reach level 99. It's easily re-playable and fun to use all the different classes. Every map is generated when you load the world, so it's very hard to get the same layout twice, keeping the gameplay fresh even though it's the same areas. I, along with countless others, have spent way too much time on Diablo II, and will probably spend countless more hours on it considering blizzard is still releasing patches for it. The dark, grungy feel of the game is amazing. With a simple interface and ease of play, it makes it an easy game to get hooked on.

One thing that is often ignored by the parents and guardians is the theme on which a game is developed. Thus, it can be easily concluded that the world of Latest Games has immense prospects for the gaming enthusiasts. The only thing to be remembered is caution and if this can be done, nothing can come between you and ultimate gaming experience.

Facebook's Five New Action and Adventure Games

Excitement, thrill and mystery attract. With recent 3D enhanced graphic animation and Flash technology, games, specifically the action and adventure-based games, have received high ratings, contributing to half the MAUs and DAUs within the social networks. While MargaritaVille Online and New in Town may be softer versions, user behavior shows leaning towards RPGs that contain variety, not repetition. Facebook's new and emerging games have taken this into account. Five games are summarized below:
1. Hidden Chronicles: Described as fun and challenging, the interactive game has been compared to The Gardens of Time, except that this riddle-filled game by Zynga has recently received top rating with 6,300,000 DAUs, according to Forbes. "Welcome to a journey like no other" is announced and a magnifying glass scrolls over these words: "You are urgently needed at Ramsey Manor. Please come at once. Signed The Guardian." The player assumes the character of a detective whose late wealthy uncle has left behind a mansion that requires constant care and upgrading, while searching for hidden objects located across geographical boundaries and time dimension.
2. Dungeon Rampage: An RPG action game that requires skill development, the fantasy setting is typical and complete with dragons and missions that involve rescue of prisoners. Players are advised to read the instructions at every level and set their own pace as well as invite friends to join in.
3. ESPN Return Man: Set in a more realistic design, this is an arcade game by ESPN for football lovers. The player is guided through the game by renowned football personalities such as Trey Wingo and can choose from two options: Blitz where one can play with Facebook Friends or Season which continues as a single game from beginning to end. The player has to avoid the defenders in order to reach the end goal. The game allows interactivity with friends and can be purchased to gain extra skills through Facebook Credits.
4. RISK: Factions: This is a strategy action oriented game similar to the board game, Risk. The player is guided by a general to use his armed troops to fight against different factions. The player wins by taking over all the continents on the map. There is the option to play alone, but recommended only if one wishes to practice. The game is most enjoyable when played against a maximum of four friends, who each take a turn with a virtual dice. The game tends to be limited and repetitive unless Facebook Credits are utilized to provide more options. The game has been attributed as a light form of entertainment and slight depiction of violence.
5. Miscrits of Volcano Island: An extended version of the game, Miscrits: World of Adventure this RPG is complete with maps, a jungle and various animal characters sprouting throughout the adventurous journey. It requires sometime before one can figure the route and prevent the animal characters from falling ill while simultaneously improving character traits. Once that has been figured, moving across levels provide a variety of challenges. The game carries a cheerful air and contains attractive graphics, and has received criticism over its untimely quests and the requisite purchasing of the game to continue before one has figured the game entirely.

Play Free Online Kissing Games for Girls and Boys

Love, romance and insanity, all go hand in hand and although many would deny it outright, most of us crave for love and want a little bit of it in our lives in some form or the other. And any romantic journey has to somewhere include a soft little kiss or a slick peck on the cheek as a kiss is one of the most beautiful and sweetest ways of expressing love and feelings to one's beloved. Many love stories start with a kiss and culminate into a relationship of a lifetime. It is indeed one of the purest ways of the manifestation of love and not only lovers but it is something that doting mothers also give a generous dose of to their tiny little wards.
In fact, people go to unimaginable extents in search of love and to get a perfect bride or a bridegroom for themselves. They do crazy stuff; do things that they would never have thought of otherwise. In this process, many go through excruciating pain and unbearable misery and some even become like kids - to get a little bit of love and fill their lives with that magical spark of romance.

How to Get a Job in the Games Industry (As a 3D/Concept Artist)

I teach games development and my students are all potentially the next generation of games developers, whether in 3D modelling, texturing, animating or programming. You may have an interest within the games industry that relates to the above areas but I'm sure one question rattles around in your mind..... "do I have what it takes to succeed in the ever growing and competitive Games Industry?"
The obvious answer would be "YES OF COURSE YOU DO!"
Now while that may be true on the most part, in this article I will explain as honestly as I can how difficult it can be and how to make it easier for yourself. There are two routes to get into the games industry and I will explain both below.
Route 1: Education and Qualifications.
We all know the importance of getting through education with sparkling colours and top marks and that in fact is VITAL. With a good grade in your CV you get looked at as a candidate, on the other hand if you hold a low graded qualification then your application may not even get looked at. This is not only valid across the games industry but across ANY industry. Better grades equal better prospects for a better job...END OF!
It is not good enough to just scrape through education, it is not good enough to just THINK that everything will turn out fine and that you will find a job in the games industry because you hold 'a' qualification. You have to want to BE THE BEST, it's as simple as that. You have to be determined, focussed, prepared to dedicate hours into creating the best possible work, push yourself to the limit and then some.
Back to the point of creating the best possible work that you can... Well it's simple isn't it? Potential employers in the games industry will always look for a good portfolio, in fact they will look for an OUTSTANDING portfolio. You need to demonstrate that you can stick within a poly count, if applying for a character modelling job you must show that you understand human anatomy and the human figure. Also that you can texture well because a model can be great but can be let down with a badly painted and stretching texture. The same applies for applying for a concept artist job, you need to show that you understand the human figure, that you can shade well, understand lighting and shadows, and also the composition of an environment/scene. So from THIS point you should always create your work with the intention of including it into your portfolio. With that mindset you will automatically show an extra desire to create work of better quality and finesse, I mean after all it could be seen by potential employers so you need to feel that bit of pressure.
As long as you stay along those lines your portfolio should be heading along the correct lines.
Route 2: Without Qualifications
Now with me being a lecturer in games development I could say that attempting to gain employment in the games industry without a qualification is plan stupid. Now on most parts that is true, but there is a small grey area where you may be considered. What you would have to do is read through the portfolio guidelines mentioned above and dedicate your life to them, so to speak. In simple terms you must have an absolutely OUTSTANDING portfolio demonstrating a vast number of assets/characters using creativity and flair. You need to shine, stand out, sell yourself as the best.
This is by no means the recommended way to do it, but I just thought it was important that it is not impossible to go down this route, it's just DAMN HARD!
You should always seek feedback on your work from colleagues, peers, friends or family. Feedback is great because it provides you with areas that you may not see that require developing. There are some great online forums that allow you to post your work up for feedback. There are a vast number of professionals that love to share their knowledge with up and coming designers. Don't be afraid of getting your work slated or 'torn to bits' as forum members will only look to provide constructive criticism.
Conclusion
I will keep this short, if you wish to gain employment in the games industry it is HIGHLY recommended to gain a qualification in the field (I'm talking about University here!). If you don't hold a qualification (and in fact this applies even if you do hold a qualification) then you have to work extra hard to create work that is as close to perfection as possible. Make use of normal maps to add additional detail to your models and demonstrate that you can use a variety of different skills. Don't forget that there will be hundreds if not thousands of other hopefuls applying for the same job so you have to push yourself to stand out, create work that makes use of many techniques and to shine like a beacon to the games studios.... you need to make them think "WE NEED THIS GUY/GIRL WORKING FOR US".
At the end of the day you will get out as much as you put in, so if you're lazy and expect a job to fall on your lap then think again, but if you're hard working, determined and create good looking work then you have every chance of getting into the games industry.
GOOD LUCK!!!
