How to Play the Finger Game

This game is fun for any car ride and the only object needed are hands and is also know as 'Chopsticks'.

Steps

  1. Put one finger out on each hand and hold them out in front of you.
  2. Have someone else do the same thing and get them to sit across from you.
  3. Decide who goes first for the game.
  4. The first person taps one of their fingers on the other person's hand.
  5. The second person puts up two fingers on the hand the first person touched. This is to signal 1 + 1 = 2. You may also tap your own hand with the same effect.
  6. The second person taps one of the first person's hands (or one of his own hands) with either of their hands. Add the number of fingers on the tapping hand and the receiving hand, and the receiving hand puts up that many fingers.
    • If five fingers should be put up on one hand, then that hand is out. Make it into a fist. If you have the sum total to 6, you get one finger, 7 two fingers, 8 3 fingers etc. Note: you may not get your own hand out.
    • If one hand is out and you have an even number on the other hand, you may split evenly between the two hands to get that hand back in. For example, if one or your hands has 4 fingers up and the other hand is out, you may "revive" the out hand and put up 2 fingers on each hand. This takes your turn.
  7. Play alternates until a player gets both hands out, and so loses the game.

Variations

  • Variation: You are not out if someone hits you and you have more than 5. Your hand just starts over.
  • Variation: You may not tap your own hands to add fingers; you may only tap your opponent's hands.

Things You'll Need

  • Hands
  • A friend or another person

How to Make a Simple Mod of a Game

A game mod is a modification of a game that changes its properties. This how-to shows you how to customize your game with little or no programming.

Steps

  1. Locate the game folder, which is usually in "C:\Program Files\", and find common file types to replace.
  2. Use Notepad or another text editor to modify an .ini file (e.g. gunAmmo(26) to gunAmmo(255)). Some .dat * .cfg files can also be modified, but don't try it if you see a bunch of funny symbols
  3. Use Paint or another graphics editor to modify image files. These include files with the extensions .bmp (bitmap), .gif (Graphics Interchange Format), .png (portable network graphics), and .jpeg (Joint Photographic Experts Group), among others. Usually these image files are textures to be mapped to certain surfaces or pictures to be used on the game's intro or setup screens.
  4. Replace .wav (wave), .mp3 (mpeg3), and .ogg (ogg vorbis) sound and music files with your own. These are audio files that are used for music tracks or sound effects inside a game.

Tips

  • Learn a bit about programming, variables, and hexadecimal. This will help in editing files.
  • .ini files, though they are very useful for game modding, are rarely seen, because programs these days now store their configuration settings in the Windows Registry.
  • Use google to find mods for your game. There are usually whole websites devoted to modding games. They also (sometimes) have special tools and forums.
  • For fun you can replace the .wav files with your own recordings, so for an explosion you just blow into a mic for half a second, or gargle a very small amount of spit.
  • Replace audio files with appropriate sounds. This keeps the game and the actions you performed relative to the sound itself. For example, it wouldn't be very realistic to hear anything other than an explosion when a missile strikes a building.

Warnings

  • Make a backup of the files before you mod.
  • Don't try to mod files with weird extensions, it could ruin your game.
  • Never touch the Windows Registry, where most games these days store their configuration files, unless you absolutely know what you're doing.
  • Don't mess around with files that have weird symbols or gibberish. These files, if edited, can ruin the entire game.
  • Be careful modding online games cause some moderators think your hacking and will kick you off the game

Things You'll Need

  • Text Editor for .ini files. Notepad is fine.
  • A basic knowledge of programming helps.
  • Picture Program for .bmp, .png, .gif, and other picture file formats. Paint works well.a good photo and image editor thats free is gimp very good program and another is photoshop.
  • Program such as Windows Media Player for ripping music.

Airplane Games

who does not love to play airplane games. Some of these games can seem so realistic it will make you think that you're Actually flying high in the sky. You control every aspect of the plane from take off to the landing. You can control out the altitude, you can even decide what plane you want to fly.
I started playing airplane games when I was in the fifth grade. After that I was hooked, every time a new airplane simulator came out I had to have it. There was just something about being able to fly high in the sky that made me feel great. At one point my life, I thought I was actually going to be an airplane pilot. I still play all airplane games that I can. I just can't seem to get enough of it.
I used to play the Microsoft flight simulators, but they didn't seem to end with each new version. I have however found a great airplane game that I play almost every day. This game is so realistic, my wife is always trying to pull me away from the computer. I can't really blame her though considering I can sit here for 12 hours at a time flying around from city to city airport to airport. The game I play now has over 100 airports and around 200 or 300 airplanes. It also has a wide variety of helicopters, although those are not my favorite ones to fly. The controls for the helicopters are a lot more complicated to use than the airplane.
If you haven't played very many airplane games you should really start. Just be careful that you don't get too addicted to it and ignore other things in your life. These games have a really help me when I have been in some of my worst situations. These games can be one of the best stress reducers a person could ever use. It is also probably the closest thing you could do with flying without actually having to fly a plane.
So if you're looking for a stress reliever, or if you just like to play some really good plane games. You should check out an airplane game today. You will be very pleasantly surprised how much fun and excitement this can add to your life. I've always wanted to fly a plane and I think this is about as close as I'll ever get.

Evolution of Shooter Games From Real to Virtual World

Shooter games, a sub category of action games, are a wonderful way to unwind after a long day of work. Equipped with a weapon, you can freely shoot all your enemies and can choose any kind of setting depending on your mood. Various sites let you play any game you like for free and you can spend as much time as you like, killing all alien specimens, monsters, devils, or any other enemies that you may encounter. These games are fun and will definitely help in calming you down.
Many websites offer a range of shooter games for play. All you need to do is click on a game you like and the game will load by itself; no download required. Once the game loads, you can start playing and shooting at your enemies with the help of your mouse.
Although users can play solo, as one person against an army of enemies, they may also select computer controlled allies for help. Another option which the player can choose is the multi-player mode, here the user can team up with other users who are online and together they can fight against the enemies.
There are various kinds of games, like those that involve horror scenes, with monsters and zombies as your enemies; others may be hunting games, where you have to shoot at the birds that fly past you. Yet others may involve elements of stealth and you may need to brush up your skills and secretly sneak up to the villains in order to kill them. Some games offer realistic surroundings and graphics so that the player really feels that he is present in the surroundings, while other games are based on pure imagination and feature fantasy.
Another variation of shooter games allows players to move and even jump when shooting targets, unlike the common shooter games that involves a fixed position of the player allowing the player to simply move his weapon and in some game reload his ammunition.
Shooting gallery games, also known as light gun games, involve a weapon which is used to aim at the enemy on the screen, instead of a weapon; the cursor can also be used to pinpoint exactly where the player intends to shoot.
Players view the setting of the game via the character assigned to them and they may be also be given augments suitable to their character, like a rifle scope is provided when you are playing a hunting game and require a magnified view of the sky.
The player should be alert and responsive as he progresses through the game, because subsequent levels get tougher and it becomes easier for the players to get killed, and then they will have to start all over again. However, the players should always bear in mind that it is simply a game and should not allow themselves to get worked up after losing, because the main objective of playing a game is to unwind and de-stress after a long day!

How to Cheat in Videogames and Online Games

If you really want to win in video games or online computer games, you might have to cheat. It's not hard to do, as long as you know the codes and hacks. Check out this page to get started -- just don't tell your friends!

Steps

  1. Choose the game in which you want to cheat.
    • For video games go to http://cheatplanet.com
    • Computer games are much harder because some online games don't allow it. If you get caught hacking, you will be kicked out of the game. Therefore when you choose the cheat you want you must make sure that you don't get reported.
  2. Enjoy The cheats but Dont over use because you could be Reported and Banned!

Tips

  • Some hacks might conceal a Trojan horse, so do a background check. Try using Wikipedia, which usually includes almost everything.
  • If you are unsure which hack to use ask a friend that hacks the same game.

Warnings

  • Be wary of Trojan horse programs that attempt to install malicious software on your computer. You can download HijackThis, a program that displays a listing of all of the programs that are run on your computer. This will list any spyware/adware/Trojans that are running on your computer.
  • Hacking in online games is usually against the rules. Do not be surprised if you find yourself kicked, banned, or have your account terminated.
  • Remember that nobody likes a cheater. Non-hacking players resent hackers in a multiplayer game, and will often report hackers. Do your best to keep the game fun for everyone playing, or you may find yourself with nobody to play with.
  • You cannot find cheats for Most online games such as "Runescape" "World of warcraft" This is because you play Client side and not Server side. Do not believe people who say they can because it is a lie, do not download software that says you can, Because it is probably a virus/trojan

How to Play the Card Game

This exciting card game is suitable for anyone to learn to play. It's a perfect way to kill some time and have fun with family, friends or people you meet while traveling! The rules outlined here are the Vietnamese variant; there is a Chinese variant as well, so make sure you ask the other players what variant they want to play if they are experienced players. Note that this game is also called "Struggling Upstream", and it is a four player game.

Steps

  1. Clarify the rules beforehand. A lot of people play with slightly different rules in different places, and it's best to be clear about what you can and can't do before the game begins to avoid confusion or frustration during the game. In this version, the rules are as follows:
    • The strongest to weakest goes in this order: 2,A,K,Q,J,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3.
    • The strongest suit is Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades but this rule only works when playing the same card.
  2. Get a full deck of cards and shuffle them.
  3. Deal out 13 cards to each player. Each player is allowed to look at their cards, make sure to clarify this.
  4. Identify who has the 3 of Spades. This person goes first and may place whatever type of hand they would like on the table, as long as it uses the 3 of Spades. For example: 3-4-5, double 3s, etc., will work fine.
  5. Determine which way the turns will be going (clockwise or counterclockwise). The next person will try to beat the previous person's hand.
  6. Place a higher hand than the player before you, following the same type of hand. For example, if they place a pair, you must play a pair that has a higher value of the one before you. If they play a single, you must play a single.
  7. Skip if you cannot place anything on the table, the turn will go to the next person. Once you skip, you may not play another card until the round finishes.
  8. Bomb the pile if you have one (refer to Tips) and you think nobody else has a higher one; it can only be beaten by a higher bomb. You will gain "control" if everyone skips and can play whatever you want.
  9. Play whatever type of hand you want on the table if nobody can beat what you put down, even if it's not a bomb. It could be a pair of the highest twos, for example.
  10. Once you have played all your cards but your last, you must declare to the group that it is your last card. However, the game may end on a double or straight card play. Try to be the first one out of cards, as this is how you win the game.
  11. You only beat a 2 if you have a double straight or quad of any cards.
  12. You win automatically if you have quad 2's or a dragon (3-A)

Tips

  • The numerical value of cards goes from 3-2, with 3s being the lowest value card and 2s being the highest.
  • The symbol values go in the following order (lowest to highest): Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts.
  • You can play the following types of hands:
    • A single: One card that beats the previous one in value.
    • A pair: Two cards that are the same number (for example, 2 of Spades & 2 of Clubs) and beat the previous one in value.
    • A triple: Three cards that are the same number and beat the previous one in value.
    • A straight: Three or more consecutive cards (for example, 9, 10, J, Q).
    • A bomb: These come in several forms. Four of a kind is a bomb. Pairs that form a 3+ straight (for example, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5) is a bomb. Four of a kind can beat all other bombs other than a higher four of a kind.
  • Play your lowest cards first if you don't have a strategy; it often helps in the long run. Otherwise, if you have a strategy, you should play that.
  • Practice playing often and you will become better.
  • In the Class Struggle variation, only four people can play. There are four ranks - King, Queen, Jack, and Pauper. The pauper must give his two highest cards to the king and the jack must give his highest card to the queen before game play. In turn, the king and queen choose 2 (king) or 1 (queen) card to give back to the jack and pauper respectively. The king can also choose if people can trade to obtain four of a kind.
  • Have a strategy when you play.

Warnings

  • Don't be a poor sport if you win or lose. Bragging when you win isn't good, yet neither is chiding someone for losing.
  • Do not get mad at someone if they keep winning. It was just the luck of the draw and/or good strategic moves on their part.

Things You'll Need

  • Full deck of cards
  • 2-4 players
  • A hard surface

All The News About the PS VITA

In the past two weeks the newest handheld of the eight generation of gaming has arrived. The Playstation Vita made its debut in late February to North American markets and has quickly proven to be a title that can compete with the Nintendo 3DS for the market share of handhold gaming. As Playstation and Nintendo are the only two franchises that currently have handheld gaming consoles, the PS VITA will be the flagship of Playstation's attempt to dominate the handhold niche. With the processing power of the Playstation 2 console in a pocket-sized shell, it is great for gamers who have a few minutes (or hours) to kill.
Similar in look and feel to its predecessor the Playstation Portable (or PSP), the Vita uses two analog sticks, geometric buttons, and a direction pad like the controller of a normal Playstation, all sandwiched around the central display. Unlike previous models, however, this unit is capable of touchscreen interface as well as Wi-Fi connections. The Playstation Vita Wi-Fi not only can run specific apps in the same sense as a smartphone, but can also download e-books and programs used on netbooks. Unlike Nintendo's 3DS, the Vita has been aggressively marketed as much more than a video game player.
The most interesting feature of the Vita may be that it runs an entirely new operating system. The traditional interface of Playstation products has been updated with a touchscreen system called LiveArea, allowing users to check out various programs for games, web browsing, photos, music, the Playstation Store (where apps can be purchased), and any friends playing online. While there are some limitations to the Vita web browser -- it cannot run Adobe Flash, the program that YouTube videos are played on -- it can nevertheless give Internet access that rivals the connections of iPhones or Androids. The most popular apps are similar to those of smart phones: social networking, such as Facebook and Twitter, are all available free of charge, while sites like Wikipedia charge only a small fee.
With nearly three dozen titles available on launch, along with dozens of download-only titles. The highly anticipated forth chapter in the Uncharted series, Golden Abyss, has been released as a Vita exclusive, while the third installment of Assassin's Creed, the Brotherhood game, is sold in some packages with the console itself. The Vita is also backwards-compatible with PSP titles, allowing players to go through their library of old games on a new machine.

A Gathering of Magical Cards

One of the first and oldest collectable card games is Magic The Gathering. It was developed by a mathematical professor and introduced to the world in 1993 by Wizards of the Coast. Regardless the advances of technology and the many trading card games that have come after it, as well as video games, Magic remains one of the most very popular magic based games.
A Rare Multiversity
The trading card game that Magic offers is set around the initialisation of a virtual economy and is usually a two player turn based game, but more players can join. The usual two opponents pretend to be wizards and are referred to as 'planes walkers'. Starting with initial points of twenty-five, the players deal out cards and use them to attack each other based on the values that the cards hold. In this way players can earn points, or lose them all depending on the interactions of the information and values of the cards. Once one of the players loses all their points, the game is over. This type of game play was very popular in the nineties, especially as school yard game and continues to be played today online and at gatherings by players of all ages.
A World Wide Phenomenon
From the first appearance of the Magic The Gathering in the earliest developments in the night times, it has had many new versions, additional cards and playable strategies added to the game and Magic continues to thrive and entertain countless of fans. It is a thought-provoking card game, whether played online or in the traditional sense of hand-held cards and has sprung many mini competitions, tournaments and even a championship. A worldwide popular system has been developed to ensure that all the different cards that are available have various degrees of rarity as well as regulations that make it a game that cannot be played just randomly hand, but one that takes skill and practice and well as intense thought and strategy to win, thus adding to its sort after enthusiasm and popularity.
Remaining Popular
This strategy based and very popular trading card game has been seen played in schools, at special gatherings, tournaments and online and it will continue to do so as its developers continue to shape and add to the design and collectability of Magic The Gathering and it will not disappear in a cloud of smoke any time soon.

Believe It or Not: Online Browser Games May Improve Your Vision

Do not feel too guilty next time you spend another half an hour playing online browser games at work. Your employer would probably not believe this right away, but you were actually acting for the benefit of your health. Everybody knows how strenuous computer work is on our eyes, but not to many people are aware of the fact that skill games may be a way of keeping your vision in shape.
Research conducted by scientists from the University of Rochester has shown that FPS (First-Person Shooter) browser games and skill games can boost your brain's processing of visual signals. In a comparison between people who play skill games for several hours a day and people who do not play games at all, it showed that the first group is 20% better at identifying visual stimuli. A total of 30 hours of game play is enough to notice a significant improvement in our spatial forms processing. This means that players are generally much faster at recognizing certain shapes than the rest of the population.
In order to prove that, the researchers selected a number of students who either never played any skill games or played just a little. They were subsequently divided into two groups. Each of them was asked to play a certain type of game for one hour a day: the first group got an FPS game, while the latter was assigned a skill game that required as much hand-eye coordination, but was visually less complex.
The results were following: game play changed the way brain areas responsible for the processing of visual stimuli work. The more visually intense a game was, the more demanding it turned out to be for the brain. Apparently, with time the brain learns how to optimize the processing of abundant visual stimuli, hence its reactions are faster also in real-life situations.
Games can also help treat particular vision conditions. A pilot study conducted by optometrists from the University of California at Berkeley has shown that skill games can improve visual acuity and depth perception in adults with amblyopia, more commonly known as "lazy eye", which is a disorder best described as vision deficiency in one eye that is otherwise normal.
The American researchers have demonstrated that as little as 40 hours of training are enough to significantly correct the impaired vision. Amblyopia can be successfully treated at a young age, yet in the case of adults it resisted all previously known methods of treatment. The new findings are, however, very promising: the researchers discovered that intense training, e.g., working on a task of setting two horizontal lines parallelly, may increase visual acuity by as much as 30-40%.
Unfortunately, task like the above mentioned one proved to be not only extremely boring and tedious but also leading to only selective improvement. This is why the Berkeley optometrists decided to check the effectiveness of computer games, since they provide a wider variety of stimuli. 20 patients with amblyopia aged between 15 to 61 years participated in the test. In part one, 10 people played shooting games for 40 hours. In part two, three other participants spent the same amount of time to play less, but still visually stimulating games. All had their healthy eyes covered up for the time of playing.
Both experiments demonstrated a 30% improvement in visual acuity. To exclude the possibility that the observed correction was a result of the covering, rather than game playing, a third - control - group was set. For 20 hours seven volunteers kept their healthy eyes covered by everyday activities, such as watching TV, reading or surfing the Web. It turned out that the vision of the third group volunteers showed no improvement. Later, the same people were asked to cover their eyes and play skill games like the two first groups. After 40 hours of game play their visual acuity improved as much as with other subjects of the experiment.
In the light of the growing number of new findings about the possible benefits of computer related entertainment, we should probably stop blaming ourselves when we sit down to spend a couple of minutes with online browser games. They may prove not that harmful as it was initially thought.

Children's Party Games: CD Player

Getting their attention
Before you start this or any other game it is important to get every child's attention. If they aren't all sitting and listening, then they may be confused as to the rules of the game when it starts.
This game is brilliant for just before a break or right as the last game at a party as the children will get really tired.
The Rules (for your reference):
This is a "command" party game, where the children listen to whichever command you give them, and then dance accordingly. The commands are as follows:
Fast Forward: The children must dance as quickly as they can.
Slow motion: The children must dance as slowly as they can.
Play: The children must dance as well as they can at normal speed.
Stop: The children must stand still, just like in Musical Statues.
How to explain this to the children in a fun way:
"OK, now we're going to play a game called CD Player."
"Don't worry if you haven't played this game before."
This sentence is important as this game isn't as widely played as games such as Musical Statues or Musical Bumps, and it sets the frame for you to explain the rules to the children, without them feeling embarrassed that they haven't played the game before..
"Now, when I say the word 'fast forward', you guys have to dance really quickly. Who is the quickest dancer in the room?"
At this point you would raise your hand to encourage them to do the same - surely they all think they're the quickest dancer, right?
"Now, when I say the word 'slow motion', you guys have to dance really slowly. Who is the slowest dancer in the room?"
Again, raise your hand to encourage them to do the same.
"Now, when I say the word 'play', you guys have to dance really well, and when I say stop you need to be as still as possible. Are you guys ready to play?"
At this point they'll normally all shout "yes" or "me". If they aren't very loud, then you can always say "well you don't sound very ready...Are you guys ready to play?" At which point they'll usually get much louder the second time around. Remember to cover your ears!
If you have prizes to give out, then it is a good idea to mention that during the explanation for each bit. For instance "I'll be giving a prize for the fastest dancer", rather than just "We'll be giving out some prizes". If the explanation isn't clear for why or how they are winning a prize, then you could confuse the children unnecessarily.
Have fun and thanks for reading!

Gaming Then and Now

Recently I decided to go back into my collection of video games. I hooked up my Sega Genesis and plugged in Sonic the Hedgehog. This is one of my all time favorite video games. There is no doubt that Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis is a classic that every gamer should play. I realize there are a lot of games out there similar to Sonic the Hedgehog. One of the more famous ones is Super Mario Brothers for the NES.
These games were not the first games ever created but are defiantly Iconic. When a gamer hears the name Sonic or Mario they immediately know who they are. My question is though they know who they are; do they know what their original games were like? Most veteran gamers know the answer to this question. However for the younger generation of gamers who are growing up playing Wii or Xbox 360, this answer might not be the same. In this day in age technology has increased rapidly. Now we have hand free and motion games. We have games with 3D graphics. The thought of where the gaming industry will be in the years to come blows my mind. Although games are advancing, we should not forget the classics and what these games started out as. The Sonic the hedgehog series for the Sega Genesis is a good example of this. Even though these games are so basic, they are still great games to play. They did not need to be complex to be fun and addicting.
In Sonic the Hedgehog you have your basic controls for running, jumping, and spinning. The music and sound effects are simple and catchy. The art and animations are all 2D, detailed, colorful, and enjoyable to see. The story is about a giant blue hedgehog named Sonic who is after an evil master mind who is terrorizing the world with his mechanical monsters in seek of controlling the world with the Chaos Emeralds. All of these elements come together to create a strong but basic game that was very catchy and fun to play. The team that developed Sonic the Hedgehog was made up of less than ten people. Of course the technology back in the Sega Genesis days was nowhere near what we have today, but the game developers worked with what they had and created outstanding games.
I am not trying to say in anyway that today's video games are bad. We should not forget about the classic games that started and impacted the industry as we know it today and teach the younger gamers about these games that we grew up playing. Whether you are veteran or a new age gamer, dig up or find a classic game like Sonic the Hedgehog or Mario and relive its experience.

Online Math Games for Kindergarten Benefit Students and Teachers

If you've ever worked with young children or have youngsters of your own at home, you know how difficult it can be to catch and keep their attention. Kindergarten teachers face this challenge every day as they work to maintain order among a group of kids unused to a school setting while simultaneously presenting lessons that are essential to the academic success of each child. Online math games for kindergarten can be lifesavers in this situation, offering a stimulating environment that entertains as it teaches.
Adding Games to Traditional Curriculum
Fortunately for teachers, it's easy to add online math games for kindergarten to daily schoolwork. Today's online learning tools are designed to align with curriculum that is already being taught, making it possible to seamlessly integrate technology with tradition. Kids love to play games, and young kids in particular are often more apt to pay attention to something presented at a pace that matches their attention spans. Though math games aren't a substitute for conventional math education, using them as tools gives kids a break from what they may see as the tedium of a school day and offers teachers a way to keep basic information fresh and interesting.
Meeting Common Standards
Many schools are now employing a set of common core standards that require all students to master a certain set of skills and retain a specific subset of knowledge by the end of each grade. The idea is to prepare each child for higher learning and for going out into the world as they get older. But between growing class sizes, budget restrictions and the inherent differences in students' learning styles, it isn't always easy to ensure that every child reaches the same level of understanding. Online math games for kindergarten give teachers at lower grade levels an extra set of tools when it comes to implementing modern standards, making it easier to present necessary information to children of all skill levels.
Giving Young Kids an Academic Edge
Kids are most impressionable at a young age, which is why you may find your child mastering your new tablet computer or cell phone long before you do. Combined with natural childhood curiosity, this aptitude for learning enables kids to pick up on and retain a great deal of information in their early years. Teachers can take advantage of this by employing online math games for kindergarten in the classroom. These same games can also be played at home to supplement what's being learned at school, with the added benefit of getting parents involved in their child's academic career at a critical stage.
Through the use of online math games for kindergarten, teachers can ensure that every child gets the attention that they need regardless of class size. Parents can use the feedback from these games to track their kids' progress and gain a better understanding of what is being learned. With this information, both parents and teachers can aid children at the start of their academic journeys and help guarantee success in future grades.

Children's Party Games: Traffic Lights

Getting their attention
Before you start this or any other game it is important to get every child's attention. Please see my previous article "The Numbers Game" for a great way to do this
The Rules (for your reference):
Traffic Lights is a simple command game, where you assign a command or action to a colour. Traditionally, you use Traffic light colours (red, amber and green). However, you can add more colours to the game if the children are old enough to understand.
So, what are the commands?
When you say the colour "green", the children run around.
When you say the colour "amber", the children dance on the spot.
When you say the colour "red", they are to stop still; much like in musical statues.
If the children are a little older (7+) then you can add more colours without them getting confused. The colours I personally add for this older age group are as follows:
When you say the colour "blue", the children walk backwards.
When you say the colour "purple", the children spin on the spot.
Of course, feel free to have fun with it. Add more colours and commands if you wish, but remember that the age of the children will affect how complicated you can make the actions. If you have prizes to give away then you can give them to the child that dances the best, walks backwards the best etc. There is plenty of scope here for giving away prizes!
How to explain this to the children in a fun way:
"OK, now we're going to play a game called Traffic Lights. Who here has played Traffic Lights before?"
As usual, you should encourage the children to raise their hands by raising your own hand - most children have played a version of Traffic Lights at some point.
"Ok guys. So when I say the word green, I want you to run around as quickly as possible. When I say the word Amber, I want you to dance on the spot as well as you can, and when I say red then you guys need to be as still as possible."
At this point, you should play some music, and say either "green" or "amber". This will get them either running around (green) or dancing on the spot (amber). When you say "red", I would advise stopping any music as this provides more of an impact. Then start the music at the same time as saying either "green", "amber" or any other colour where an action is required.
If the children are a little older and you would like to add some more colours to the game, then you can do this midway through. As the children will be still and quiet when you say "red", they will be far more receptive to new rules - explaining a new colour/command will be far easier at this point.

6 Reasons Online Games Are So Awesome

If you have never played any online games, here are six reasons you will not be disappointed if you start playing them:
100% Free: Everyone likes to have fun. However, just because you are in the mood for some entertainment does not mean that you want to pay a fortune for it. If you have tried going to the movies lately, you know it can easily cost $30 to $50 for less than two hours of entertainment! Although it is ridiculous that prices have gotten so high, the good news is there are still options that won't empty your wallet.
In fact, playing online games will not take a single dollar out of your wallet. You can play these games for as long as you want without ever being charged. If you are wondering how that is possible, it is because game creators and website owners are able to use ads to subsidize the gaming experiences they create for people around the world.
Easy to Start: One reason that some people who are interested in online games do not actually try them is because they believe it is going to be too difficult to learn how to play them. While that may be the case with games that are played on consoles like the PS3, it does not apply to online games. Because they feature clear instructions and intuitive controls, you will be able to hop right into playing.
Provide Plenty of Challenges: While you can easily start playing an online game, that does not mean it will quickly become boring. On the contrary, the more you play a game, the more challenging it will become. The reason that is possible is because progressing to more advanced levels will present you with challenges that are reserved for players who have gotten a feel for the basics of a game.
Flexible Lengths: There will be times when you only want to take a break for a few minutes. Then there will be times when you want to be entertained for an extended period. A major strength of online games is they are just as enjoyable to play in either situation.
Any Style You Want: Thanks to the continued popularity of online games, developers have created just about every type of game you can imagine. If there is a specific style of game you want to play, you are just a search away from finding it.
Accessible from Anywhere: One of the drawbacks to console games, as well as downloadable computer games, is they can only be played in one location. Console games require you to play in front of your TV, while downloadable games are only for individual computers. If you want freedom, you will enjoy being able to play online games from any desktop or laptop computer with an Internet connection.
Now that any doubts about the awesomeness of online games have been eliminated from your mind, all that is left for you to do is to start playing!

Online Car Games Are Fun And Challenging

Online car games are nothing new but maybe you haven't heard of them because you've been so busy slaughtering aliens or bombing buildings. If you're looking for a change from those combat games or the games where you see how many zombies and vampires you can kill in an hour then you need to check out some of the new car games. They're fun and exciting and just as competitive as your favorite war games.
Years ago these games were simple racetracks or a basic tour through the countryside. You sat behind the wheel of your car and ran around the track or traveled over the countryside and you thought you were cool because you were driving.
Those games don't hold a candle to the games we have today!
Today your choices of games are almost unlimited. Yes, there are racing games but you're not just running around an oval track like the old days, you're racing through the dessert, racing against police cars, racing against jet skis and spinning around on ice. You might even decide you want to race zombies or vampires or have a high-speed chase with the cops.
There are also parking games where you have to overcome obstacles if you want to park your car. These games are great and there's one in particular, "Driver's Ed", that a lot of kids like to play when they're getting ready to get their driver's license because they really do learn from it.
Today's car games just keep getting better. Instead of having one ordinary racetrack like the old days, when you conquer that racetrack now you move up to a more difficult track. Your car becomes more powerful. You're rewarded with faster tires or a special turbo-boost to make your car go faster. And of course, the faster you drive the more rewards you win.
There are even car games that have a strategy involved where you have to drive around and collect things before you can advance to the next level. Like some of the popular role-playing games you also have to form alliances with other players if you want to get ahead. That means you'll get to meet new people from all over the world.
If it's been a while since you tried to play these games and all you can picture is driving around in circles for hours on end then it's time you took another look. Today's car games online are just as aggressive and challenging as your favorite shooter games. Register at any of the free online sites. Start making new friends and try some new games. You're going to be surprised at all the changes you'll find.
